Design for Manufacturing is our standard procedure throughout the design process, incorporating cost, quality and performance variables. Concurrent design practices empower a manufacturing engineering strategy that is implemented in the prototyping phase.

• Manufacturing Engineering creates a cost effective and productive implementation of the designed components. This approach provides input early in the design stages to advance process design, production tools, build fixtures and plan schedules.
• The ISO 9001:2000 Quality Plan propagates through the design process at Airex. Mandates are established to actively promote improvements at every stage of development. Visual, mechanical, electrical and environmental components are relentlessly reviewed to align the final product with the customer requirement and stringent Airex standards.
• Manufacturing Operations are continuously updated to reflect the design intent. The manufacturing method is proven by pre-delivery product runoff, extended manufacturing cycles, and product testing. Product baselines, customer training, process documentation review and final buyoff complete the design cycle.
• Final Vendor Selection for subcomponents begins with an established vendor base comprised of sub-contactors, vendors and suppliers established in our 50 year history. The proven capabilities of these vendors requires that each vendor maintain an up to date facility and submit approval samples prior to delivery.
• Product Documentation includes process documentation, electrical schematics, assembly drawings, maintenance instructions, operations manuals and customer drawings. High reliability product manufacturing includes further documentation such as design review minutes, signed process books, verified test data, traceable calibration records, coupon proofs, environmental logs, witness samples and full material sourcing.
• Product that meets customer requirements and satisfies their delivery schedule is our goal. Our products are shipped to customer specifications as to cleanliness, test documentation, packaging and international freight regulations. User training and support contracts are routine accommodations as indicated in our documented service policy.
